At iconmobile GmbH in Berlin, Germany, I developed functional prototypes of location-based service concepts for the i-Mode mobile services platform and assisted in the development of a game using the J2ME application platform.
Zweite Hand is a popular print and web publication in Berlin for classified advertisements. The prototype allowed buyers to search for ads sorted by distance to the sellers, save ads into personal watch lists, and resort those lists by cost or location at any place or time.
Zitty is a popular print and web publication in Berlin for entertainment information. With a database sample provided by Zitty, a mobile city guide for restaurants and bars was prototyped. The service allowed for immediate lookup of restaurants and bars near the user's current location, displayed with maps.
CityMark was a functional prototype of a location bookmarking service and community. Users could mark interesting locations in the city with short notes, saving them into lists. These lists could later be sorted and further annotated on the CityMark web site.
Bombastic was a puzzle game where players defuse bomb circuits left by a terrorist. The time and number of moves required to defuse the bomb are scored and ranked on a community web site. The player can also send a timed challenge to a friend who must beat the player's score before the "bomb" blows up.
